A New Adventure: Tee Morris on YouTube

Hey, everyone. Howâ€s it going?

I know, I know — I was doing really well in blogging for a change  . . . up to February 20. 2020. So, what happened?

• The week after my last blogpost, I was downsized at my place of work.
• The week after being downsized, I went off to the Smoky Writers†Retreat: The Beach Edition.
• The week after the retreat, COVID-19 officially shut down the U.S.
• Two months after this, Discord for Dummies hit the shelves.
• Two months after this, the second edition of Social Media for Writers hit the shelves.
• Two months after this, I ran my first half marathon in four years.
• Two months after this, the fourth edition of Podcasting for Dummies hit the shelves.

2020 has been, as well documented by a lot of people, a shitshow. Wild highs, unbelievable lows. And through it all I am still streaming. I have been working to stay creative through all of this.

And here, in the year-anniversary of the world pumping the brakes, I’m looking to another creative outlet . . .

Inspired by video essays on a wide array of topics, I wanted to give YouTube a workout. This is a brand new step for me into something I love doing: video editing. If I have noticed any trend in YouTube essayists, or YouTubers, or vloggers, or [insert clever new word for a content creator], it’s something of a freestyle approach to editing. (In layman’s terms, random jump cuts are fine.) This kind of freedom makes content creation of this kind less daunting, for me at least; and this recent resurgence of Twitch contending with the DMCA inspired me to put this video together.
